Eligibility

Awarded to bachelor degree seeking students, enrolled full time (12-18 credits) in the College for Women. This scholarship is based on academic achievement,  demonstrated leadership, and commitment to social justice. It was established in 2012 to honor St. Catherine University’s 8th president, who led the University to greater international visibility.

Admission Requirements

It is recommended that students begin the application process 6-9 months (or earlier) before their studies begin at St. Catherine University. International documents may take longer to obtain and complete the admission requirements. The University will not review an application for admission until all required documents have been received.

  • Complete the Common Application by clicking Apply Now. There is no fee to apply.
  • Submit official records (transcripts) from secondary schools attended, listing all subjects completed and grade/mark received. Records must be sent directly from the secondary school institution to be considered official. Transfer credits will be considered on a course-by-course basis. St. Catherine University reserves the right to make final decisions about credential evaluation and transfer credits.
  • If you have completed secondary school at the time of application, you must submit certified copies of your diploma or leaving certificate for proof of completion and a final secondary school transcript.
  • Submit one letter of recommendation. This letter should be written by someone who has known you in an academic context. Recommendation letter(s) should address your abilities as a student, your extracurricular activities and academic accomplishments.
  • Applicants for whom English is not their native language must provide an assessment of their English language ability.
    Minimum Score Requirements
    TOEFL: 61 on the internet-based exam or 520 on the paper-based exam. Our TOEFL code is 6105.
    IELTS: 6.0 overall band score.
    Duolingo: 85
  • (Optional) Submit SAT/ACT test scores. Self-reported scores are allowed for admission decisions. Official reports will be required if students are accepted and choose to enroll.
    Minimum Score Requirements
    SAT: 450 in both writing and critical reading sections. Our SAT code is 6105.
    ACT: 18 in both English and reading sections. Our ACT code is 2096.

Electronic copies of your academic records will be accepted. Please request the issuing institution to electronically deliver the transcript directly to St. Catherine University at admissions@stkate.edu.

Additional Requirements Following Acceptance into Your Program

Upon acceptance to St. Catherine University, all non-native English speakers enrolling for the first time are required to take the St. Catherine English Placement Test. The exam will be proctored during international student orientation.

  1. Submit verification of finances in the form of bank statements or other financial documentation (the most recent 6 months). The U.S. government requires all applicants to provide proof of ability to pay tuition and living expenses before the University can issue necessary forms to obtain a visa. Once you have been accepted, you will be contacted by St. Catherine’s Designated School Official (DSO) to obtain your financial information. International applicants can be admitted academically but must also show information necessary for obtaining a visa.
  2. All non-native English speakers enrolling for the first time are required to take the St. Catherine English Placement Test. The exam will be proctored during international student orientation.

Applicants will be notified of an admission decision within three weeks after required materials have been received. Upon acceptance, pay your $200 tuition deposit to reserve your spot in our class.

Note: All students are required to participate in the school’s student health program or in a health benefit plan with comparable coverage.

  1.   2. All documents must be original or certified photocopies. Original documents may be returned upon request.
  3. Any document in a language other than English must be accompanied by an English translation from a certified translator such as ATA Translators. Applicants are not allowed to translate their own documents.
